COUNSELLING
At Sahir we offer specialised therapeutic counselling for trans and gender
expansive people who are seeking to explore, and make sense of, their
gender identity. We can offer up to twelve free sessions of weekly
counselling either face-to-face, online, or via the telephone.
Those accessing the service are encouraged to 'take up space' and are
invited to bring themselves in their entirety so that the therapist and service
user can meet each other simply as they are. People can expect a warm and
collaborative space that can be catered for their specific needs and desired
outcomes.
How Can I Access?
Self-referral, GP or other healthcare professional.

Trans Support Service (TSS)
Paid/Private Counselling
The Transgender Support Service offers a safe therapeutic space to discuss
issues directly related to gender identity only. It provides an assessment of
your needs and up to a maximum of 12 sessions (including assessment) of
therapy. This will be focused only on your gender needs and identity and
will not directly treat any mental health needs.
If you prefer to select your own private counsellor and pay for their services,
there are a few things you should keep in mind. For more information on
finding the right therapist for you, click here: How to Find a Therapist.
The above services offer fantastic counselling support funded to support
the gender diverse community, meaning your sessions are free.
